Corsa Oil & Filter change & MOT cost?
Comments

National Tyres do a oil and filter change for 30 odd quid if you book online. Bit more for better oil.
Then find an indie garage for an MOT that charge £30-40.

synth is something like £40 a gallon. a micra takes 4.5ish litersIt's not unreasonable. If you bought a decent grade oil from a shop, that'd probably cost you £20, filter's probably a fiver retail. The going rate for an MOT's about £40, so it sounds like he's charging you £30-40 for an hours work, which is about the going rate for a small garage.0 -
Spark plugs, air filter, oil and filter can all cause emission fail. Makes sense to book the car in for a service before the mot.I have been quoted £100 for a MOT & Oil & Oil filter change. Seems a bit dear to me but I know I wont get ripped off for extra work etc by this garage. He tells me synthetic oil is dear? Car is 3 years old and has only done around 8000 miles.
Is £100 a reasonable price?
A full service would be better as a decent garage would spot failures in the service and call you before putting it though the mot0 -

Sorted.
I was thinking the same as the above. £30 at a fast fit place for an oil change, plus £40 for an MOT.
However... I'm guessing your garage is charging for an oil and filter change, plus a mini service (a few checks!). My local inde charges £70 for what he calls an 'oil and filter service'. You say you trust your garage so I don't see why not to go with them. Plus you can ask them to check if there's anything obvious wrong with it prior to the MOT.0 -
Is not over the top price you say you trust them so you answered your own question.Google gives you answers use it.........0
