Is anything covered??
Options
Phone Care Insurance from E2Save/Carphone Warehouse:
It says:
“Phone Care also gives you the benefit of protection against:
• Accidental damage
• Damage from water or other liquids
• Theft”
But not covered is:
"We will not cover your phone or accessories being damaged or stolen
if they are:
• Left in, or stolen from, any motor vehicle;
• Left in, or stolen from, a public place or a place that people who you
don’t know can get to easily;
• Left in, or stolen from, any other place unless the phone is damaged
or stolen by a person who has entered the place without permission; or
• Damaged or stolen as a result of something you or any person using
the phone with your permission have done or not done to make this
more likely to happen.”
?????

What's the problem?
Those terms simply mean if you are daft enough to leave your phone somewhere in a public place and turn your back on it (even for a second), then you aren't covered for loss/theft.
Pretty standard terms that apply to most insurance policies.Understeer is when you hit a wall with the front of your car
Oversteer is when you hit a wall with the back of your car
Horsepower is how fast your car hits the wall
Torque is how far your car sends the wall across the field once you've hit it0 -
The line that really bugs me is:
" Damaged or stolen as a result of something you or any person using
the phone with your permission have done or not done to make this
more likely to happen.”
What does this mean? Doesn't this opt out everything?0 -

What does this mean? Doesn't this opt out everything?- Given it to a mate to leave in a phone box with a post-it on saying 'take me'.
- Rolling over it with a car to see if it is crush resistant.
- Dropping it in the pacific to see if it really is splash proof.
- Setting fire to it deliberately.
Basically it excludes stupidity.43580 -
Say I put it on the table next to a glass of water and accidentally knock the glass over.
It's accidental water damage, but I chose to put it on the same table as the glass.0 -
They put this stuff in to muddy the waters, when it comes to claiming in that scenario in post 5 i'd bet they wouldn't pay out !!!0

It is designed to exclude cover for stupidity such as leaving it on a restaurant table in a public place and then turning your back on it for a moment.
So basically anything you wouldn't do with a wallet or purse, don't do with a mobile either. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
It simply means that you're only covered if you have taken reasonable steps to keep it safe yourself.Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.- Mark TwainArguing with idiots is like playing chess with a pigeon: no matter how good you are at chess, its just going to knock over the pieces and strut around like its victorious.0
