I tried to get along with touch screen but I just cannot get used to it.
Anyone know of any nice qwerty keyboard inclusive smart phones (android)?
Why does it seem like options are so limited for android and physical keyboard lovers?

You will struggle to find any new high end android phones with a physical qwerty keyboard. There are several reasons for this:
1) To be a high end Android handset thickness of a phone is generally a selling point. Phones tend to get thinner, faster and bigger. A physical keyboard chunks up a phone... See the HTC Desire Z, Nokia C7 (I think... Could be E7) or Sony Ericsson Vivaz Pro... None of these phones ever made it as flagship handsets.
2) Android itself was never designed around physical buttons... The games, navigation, apps etc have all been designed for a touch interface. Blackberry seem to be the only handset maker still pushing the Qwerty keypad flagships.
If you can stomach a Blackberry it may be worth waiting for the new Blackberry 10 handsets launching this year. There is due to be one with a qwerty keypad I believe.0 -
I've had a whole line of hard/slide-out keyboards, going right back to the first Nokia Communicator.
I think the sad fact is that there simply isn't the volume business for the manufacturers. To give Nokia their due, they tried really hard with the Communicators but the last one, the E7, was a real mess, basically falling between 2 stools!
After having 2 others after them, currently a Desire Z, I've just ordered an Xperia P and I'm currently weaning myself off the Z's slide-out keyboard by using Smart Keyboard.
I'm sure that when the Windows return to phones was announced, there was a slide-out model by HTC shown, but it looks as if it's bitten the dust!David.0 -
Samsung are due to be launching the Galaxy Chat in the early part of 2013. The problem with some of the other QWERTY Android devices has been the screen which doesn't work as well in a landscape setting, but the Chat looks like it has been shaped appropriately, and the keyboard looks quite BlackBerryesque (which is one of their strengths).
I have also used the Motorola Pro Plus handset, and it's a decent QWERTY Android alternative - I certainly preferred it to the BlackBerry I was using previously.0 -
The Desire Z and also the Motorola something or another can still be found on Amazon and ebay.
I tried hard to like the Motorola but had to return it because of a fault on it.
Bought 2 Zs but had to return them too, for different reasons! One came with a non-UK keyboard although the pic showed UK, and the other wouldn't upgrade from 2.2 to 2.3.David.0 -
They only seem to exist across the pond, it's a case of import one, or suck it up and get used to on screen keyboards.0
