parking fine from parking eye??

After visiting Llandudno retail park the sign says 2hrs free parking, while doing the Xmas shopping hadn't realised I went over almost an hour and have just had a parking charge notice from parking eye for £85 or £50 for quick payment. Do I pay it ? How can I contest it, I have receipts from the shops to prove I was shopping. I have read posts to say don't pay it..... Please advise, thanks

As with the thousands of other posts - just ignore Parking Eye - they're a joke !

You owe them nothing. They'll send you a few threatening letters and then give up.

DO NOT PAY THEM OR CONTACT THEM !

You would imagine the landowners of such places would allow a temporary relaxing of the rules at Christmas time as places do get busy.

But Parking Spy say no as they earn lots of money during the festive period

Ignore them, the chances of it heading anywhere near a court-room is the same as me winning the 100 metre final at Rio 2016.
  • treacle, we've received several such letters over the last couple of years. They'll probably send another few, asking you to pay more, then threatening court action, then offering to allow you to pay less (really? The retirement fund's healthy, is it? :rotfl:). They may even tell you they've passed your debt to a debt collection agency. Then, they'll give it up as a bad job. Ignore them. They do give up.

These people are bullies and thugs. They harrass people who don't know any better into paying them cash... for nothing. They're like the play ground bullies who steal another kid's lunch, except that they send letters designed to be intimiditaing (they're actually quite amusing if you proof read then for errors ;)) . Except they'll just take your money if you're willing to hand it over. Don't. You don't even need to engage with them. Just ignore them.

Obviously, if you feel the need to give some money away, you could consider donating a few quid to a charity of your choice .
  • I have read some of the other posts about parking eye and their parking notices. I received 2 fines in a week at the car park in Llandudno as there were no signs and no where to pay for a ticket. I have just received my second debt recovery letter what should I do? Im getting worried now!!

I had the same thing. Ignored them totally. After third letter threatening court and over £200 in costs they stopped writing :)

    What should you do? NOTHING.

My advice is in post #15 here on pepipoo, so bored with typing the same thing all the time:

Please look at that reply in post #15 (I am SchoolRunMum on pepipoo). :)
