Unwanted Still wrapped scam??

People are selling wrapped Christmas presents on Ebay and actually getting silly bids of over £100!!

Is it just me or
a) Who would spend so much on these items?
b) Is this a quick and easy money making scam???

There was an article in the paper the other day about people selling unwanted gifts from ex's and in-laws that they didn't even bother opening, flogging them on eBay unwrapped hoping they could get more.

I personally wouldn't buy something if I didn't know what was in there.
