Broad band contracts

Hi
Read in the Metro Paper that we should be able to move for provider to provider with out curving early termination charges ,

I am asking if this law now as i have moved home and am with a provider for 18 months and lost my special discount with them and am paying more for the same package,

Any suggest any way i can get present provider to give a better deal

The Metro is kite flying. If you entered into an agreement it will remain binding on you for any minimum term you previously agreed. Contract Law will not change, so don't hold your breath.

Recently advice from OfCom (not sure if this is legally binding or not) states that a CP cannot prevent a customer from moving supplier simply because the account is in debit. In other words, they cannot prevent you moving supplier or withhold a MAC, but still have a right to chase any deferred fees, cancellation fees or profit foregone as stipulated in your original contract.
Sorry, but the customer is not always right. Often, you're very very wrong.
