I have just bought a kit to run an S-video lead from the PC video card to the TV via scart adapter (no S-Video socket on TV).

Oldish Sanyo telly but checked website and it said AV1 handled S-Video.

Plugged it all in with sound via the amp.........but no picture any ideas anyone??

I use one of these svideo/scart adapters. There is a small switch on the side for input/output of signals. Is yours the same?

Oh Lord! I struggled for ages trying to get this to work...only ever managed to get the sound and black and white picture across...gave up in disgust in the end! 23ldgm

    Best of luck!

Just a thought...have you checked that the TV-out setting is for PAL transmission and not NTSC?

Try the adaptor with the switch on the other setting. If this doesn't help then it may be an idea to check your graphic card driver.

I've got to agree with Allexie. It can be a nightmare getting the TV out set up to work. It took me a lot of fiddling around with software before I got mine working properly. It can seem a nightmare job while you're in the middle of doing it.

    Good luck!!

    Glad you got sorted Hintza

Would anyone have any ideas as to why I could only get a black and white picture to display on my TV when I tried to do this???

I gave up and got a DVD writer and player in the end to view films, (no trailing leads to trip over!), but there are still times when it would be good to be able to do this.

Also, I used to find my desktop icons re-arranged and re-sized themselves after every attempt of using TV-out...that was really irritating!

Why not follow the instructions on that page (or elsewhere on that site) they also do it for other graphics cards.

I've read the page and also the forum but there honestly isn't anything there that I haven't tried! Believe me...I spent weeks trying to sort this and explored many many avenues.....re-installed drivers, tried s-video and scart leads/connectors, consulted various forums......lots of peeps suggested using a prog called TvTool but that didn't work either! icon8.gif

    New graphics card???

I think they are the root of all evil on many PC's. I built my new PC recently because I couldn't decide if it was my graphics card or motherboard that was causing all my crashes.......I changed just about everything else!!
