Free listing. Good for selling or not?

Can anyone tell me when the next free listing weekend is please? I'm in the middle of photographing tons of stuff and want to get it on ebay asap. Also, do people find it better to sell on a non free listing weekend or is the site flooded with sellers then?
Also, since when was there a limit on how many items you can sell in a month???? 10 allowed only.. I have at least 3 times that much
Thanks

If you are limited to 10 things it will be because you are either a new seller or oh haven't sold for a while, and those 10 listings will have to cover everything. So even if we do get another free listing this month you will still only have your 10 listing limitI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Thanks Soolin
Kicking myself about missing the free listing. Do you know how often they happen?
I'm not new to ebay but I haven't sold for ages (did buy something recently though) so that's probably why i have a limit. Gutted0 -
I'd avoid the free listing your only saving pennies and i think it floods the market so if you list when it's a paid for lisiting you should get a better price.0

I avoid them, as the area I sell in gets flooded with rubbish listings whenever it's a free listing day so my listings tend to get buried.
Paying 10p is a little price to pay to getting a (on average) higher selling price.0 -
Thanks Lindseykim and Kite. That makes total sense. I listed 6 items yesterday not realising they actually were free to list after all. Maybe the free listing has been extended over this weekend.
Anyway, I have a couple of watchers for 2 of the items so going to leave them on there and list my other items next weekend when (hopefully) it isn't free. Sounds bad that, Pix wanting to spend money..lol
As I'm only limited to sell 10 items a month I will only have 4 to go on. Have applied for address verification to allow me to sell more, so will do when that's sorted.0 -
If you have started the auction at 99p its free to list anyway.0

Don't forget that if you start at 99p you need to be prepared to sell for that and after fees that leaves you very little in hand. Also, if you are returning to selling after a long absence do watch things like post and packing charges and s dispatch times. Buyers now mark us for these and p and p is a particularly difficult one as buyers really don't expect to pay more than a few pence over stamp price.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Whether or not to list on free listing weekends also depends on the rarity of the the items you have for sale. If many are routinely listed on each FLW, the chances are, yours will sell only if it's the cheapest, so you might end up getting less for it. On the other hand, if you've got something rare or even unique, listing the item on a FLW for the minimum price you'd accept is probably the most profitable way to sell.
Most of my items are uncommon. Each time a FLW, I simply relist anything unsold. Sometimes it can take months to sell them, but eventually, almost everything will sell for a decent price - and sometimes they go for much more than I expected!"The secret of life is honesty and fair dealing.
