Im hoping to start selling properly again over the summer, I have been selling 10-15 items only a week since Xmas. Now I have got more stock and hoping for a bumper summer. Any predictions for when sales will pick up, yesterday and today very slow.0

I've been waiting this lull out for weeks and weeks. I've got loads of bits and pieces I want to sell for charity but the market's so bad I don't want to put them on. I put loads on about 5 weeks ago and ended up out of pocket because of poor sales and I don't want to do that again. *sigh*0

I've pretty much lost interest in Ebay since Christmas. I've found other things to do with my time and I resent their fee structure. I now always look at free to advertise methods first. I've got a box of stuff that I'm going to take to the charity shop because I can't be bothered with listing it (videos and a few other things).Happy chappy0

Videos are better going to the charity shop anyway. The vast majority won't sell on eBay beause they're worth less than they'd cost to post.0

The problem is that I am actually starting to hate ebay - I do go through stages where I simply cannot be bothered with the hassle of it but it is kind of addictive and I have missed the money to be honest. I know that on a Friday, my paypal money goes into my account and recently it has been so much less, it is demoralising. I have tons of stuff that has not sold when it *should* and usually would have doneI've pretty much lost interest in Ebay since Christmas. Yes I can empathise with you all Im going the same way.Ebays fee increases, postasge increases and the stupid way ebay allows non payers is really making me HATE ebay too. Its such a hsame because it would only be a few changes that ebay could easily make to rectify everything.
I feel really sorry for people who have been relying on ebay for a living- I hope things get better for you all.0 -
On the plus side, I've got myself a new wardrobe of clothes today...loads of bnwt Next clothes, I made sure the search only looked for things under £4 to stop me from over-spending....I went a bit mad I have to say but the bargains were unbelievable.0

I had two similar items finish this morning, both new and both starting at £2.95. One didn't sell and the other sold with one bid for £2.95.
I have an identical item on my watch list which is in the same catagory and IMHO not described as well as mine yet it is at over £30 with three hours to go.
I do tend to end my items in the morning or afternoon, maybe I'll have to try ending them in the evenings.
The time an item ends is absolutely crucial, in my opinion. For example there is no point in selling a suit suitable for work between the hours of 9 to 5 because your targetted audience is at work. Baby clothes are good to sell around 10.30 am whan baby is having it's mid morning kip and mums on ebay having a coffee break! Also very little sells between 3pm (school run) 4pm...then there is a flurry of bids for half an hour then it goes dead until 6 o'clock whilst people are eating or preparing tea/dinner.0 -
Some employees do access eBay from work though: often at lunchtime, but sometimes when they're supposed to be working! Evenings are generally better in my experience for most items, but it's much more important to avoid commuting times than actual office hours. The time an item ends is absolutely crucial, in my opinion. I have to say that my items always end on a Sunday evening, usually between about 7.30pm and 10pm and that is what works for me. Have tried loads of different end times and days and that brings in the most sales.0

like where though? local papers classifieds/ad-mag etc. you always have to confirm you're 'not a trader in these items' or something like that. are we saying that if you just agree to that, no-one will check ?0
