Sales - or lack of.

Personally I think we will all have got bored of ebay and intenret auctions generally and will all be doing something completely different...just waiting for the next big thing.
Although having said that this ebay phase has lasted longer than just about anything else I can remember.
There are always new people discovering/using ebay and internet auctions. Had loads of buyers who have only been registered a couple of months and are on an obvious 'buying frenzy'. I don't know how long people on here have been using ebay but I first used it last July. I hadn't a clue how it worked before then. Now i'm addicted!0 -
I've actually been registered for almost 8 years..I started off as a buyer then tried a few easy things to sell, then it just took over.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. yeah it is a little quiet but remember that is is nearing the end of the month and many people will be waiting til payday before parting with cash on non-essentials ebay purchases.rose_sparky wrote: »I'm joining the ranks of others on here who are feeling despondant regarding their ebay sales (or lack of).
Today I'm just about ready to load all of my gear into the car and go to the nearest high street and give it away.
I sell an eclectic mix of items and items that normally sell at a profit are going for peanuts and it's bringing tears to my eyes.

This is what is bugging me today.
I had two similar items finish this morning, both new and both starting at £2.95. One didn't sell and the other sold with one bid for £2.95.
I have an identical item on my watch list which is in the same catagory and IMHO not described as well as mine yet it is at over £30 with three hours to go.
I do tend to end my items in the morning or afternoon, maybe I'll have to try ending them in the evenings.0 -

Why not post the two listing numbers and perhaps someone could look and give advice.0 -

You know, this is gonna sound pathetic and probably doesn't help my Ebay downfall, but I hate using BIN's. I always feel too guilty asking straight out for a price ! Madness eh ?! I think I need to toughen up

My sales are awful at the moment. I usually bring in £250+ each week absolute minimum (and that is after the tax man has had his cut) but this last 8 weeks it has been below £100 almost every week.
I look back at what I was making 7 years ago and cringe as my sales have steadily dropped year on year but this year has nose-dived horrifically. When I first started selling, there were 4 pages of items for what I sold....today there are 98.0 -
WOW Dolly, and here's me whinging.0

The thing is I have built up my knowledge of what I sell over these 7 years - I know what I am looking for and I started doing ebay so I didn't have to work. I have young children and wanted to be at home with the youngest and able to pick up the eldest from school, and be there if he was ill etc.
I have had to diversify immensely and now barely sell the same things as I did when I started out but you adjust and learn to recognise new, sale-able items.
The problem is that I am actually starting to hate ebay - I do go through stages where I simply cannot be bothered with the hassle of it but it is kind of addictive and I have missed the money to be honest. I know that on a Friday, my paypal money goes into my account and recently it has been so much less, it is demoralising. I have tons of stuff that has not sold when it *should* and usually would have done.
It doesn't matter how much you sell, if sales are down it affects you no matter how much you make.0
