All ones I tried just error out and go "no claims bonus cannot exceed time license held"

I've had 2 different 10 month policies and never had any problems changing company when it came to renewl time.

Given the companies you are looking at I'd say you are trying to insure some sort of Japanese sports car, perhaps a subaru. I'm not surprised these companies won't accept it, they are twitchy at the best of times as they are specialists and are good if you meet the strict criteria of their panel.

You might not have the same issue with say, a 1.6 Ford Focus and a mainstream broker/insurer.
