tbh, I like a short weekly thread, as although I sometimes plan longer, I often just go week by week. I don't often get time to read through a big long thread, but if it's all going into one, then it is up to the BGs really :D
My plan for the week (we are doing the 5:2 diet, so tues & thurs dinners will be approx 400cal
Su 6th roast chicken, spuds and veggies
Mo 7th chicken and mushroom pasta
    Tu 8th vietnamese chicken soup
We 9th mushroom stoup with dumplings.
Th 10th steamed salmon & veggies
Fr 11th spaghetti carbonara and peas
Sa 12th omelette arnold bennett & salad
  • I have started meal planning again and enjoyed using this thread before
We are financially very tight this month due to OH being between jobs in December so it is rubber chicken week for us.

Sat, Roast chicken with veg and stuffing
Sun, Spicy pumpkin sup with HM bread and rice pudding
Mon, Sweet and sour chicken with noodles
Tue, Scrambled egg on toast for me and DD frozen HM sausage and mash for OH with any left over veg from saturdays roast, fresh fruit for pudding
Wed, Chicken soup and HM bread with pineapple cobbler
Thur, Cheesy baked beans on toast, fresh fruit for pudding
    Fri, Beef stew
I am playing all of the right notes just not necessarily in the right order :D.

Hi everyone. Back to normality next week so I really need to get organised. I still have a load of leftovers in the freezer and have added some seasonal sale bargains so I want to use these up.

Sat - Friends for dinner so having carrot and coriander soup leftover from Christmas eve, Turkey and ham pie with veg and roasties, apple crumble and custard or cheese and crackers.
Sun - Left over roast pork and stuffing in HM rolls with salad and wedges
Mon - Gammon with egg, peas and HM chips
Tues- - Roast turkey dinner using left overs from freezer
Wed - Gammon risotto and salad
Thurs - Toad in the hole, roasties and veg
Friday - ham and cheese pasta, salad and garlic bread
Sat - turkey in blackbean sauce with noodles

    Have a good week

Thanks for starting this off, Skint. I don't really mind whether we have a separate weekly plan thread or merge it in with the I Will Meal Plan one - or, as a third alternative, could we have a rolling thread for actual meal plans, so people can add their plan whenever is convenient for them, and keep the IWMP thread for discussion? Or would that just make things even more complicated?

Anyway, my plan for this week:

Saturday - soup and pudding night (spicy tomato and lentil soup followed by butterscotch pudding with stewed apple and possibly some cream if I can get some with a YS on the pot ;))
Sunday - pork and cider stew with root veg mash and steamed cabbage
Monday - jerk sweet potato and bean stew (this week's new recipe)
Tuesday - scampi, oven chips, mushy peas and roast cherry tomatoes
Wednesday - Thai chicken and squash curry
Thursday - bacon, with some sort of veg and pesto sauce with pasta
Back after a very long break!

Thanks for the mealplan thread. I've just finalised mine so here goes:

Sat - Toad in the Hole with Beans
Sun - Sweet & Sour Pork with Noodles
    Mon - Shepherd's Pie
Tues - Chicken Curry with Rice
Weds - Meat Feast Pasta Bake
Thurs - Jacket Potatoes with Melee Beans
    Fri - Baguette Pizzas

I agree with CCP about the third alternative suggested - a rolling thread for mealplans, as looking back through lots of different mealplans could give lots of inspiration when stuck in a mealplanning rut. Otherwise, I don't mind how they get posted. :)

    Have a lovely week everyone

I'd have to say I never had a meal plan and stand no chance now lol.

    2 sons 15 & 18

By demand I make a big pot of curry - usually 2k of chicken - that lasts 2 meals and some snacks.
In between I make a big pot of Bolognese - 2 meals + snacks

When Granma comes round on a Sunday I do a roast as she buys it and I cook it. When she's off socialising I do a Shepherds pie or casserole.

Saturdays Its IFITS - If its in the Frige/freezer you can have it lol

On the other day of the week - I sometimes try to get creative however the younger dashes off to football and the older turns his nose up and dips into the curry pot !

    What JOY

I rarely meal plan as cook daily with no leftovers,I just take meat out the night before and decide what to do when the time comes! But I am stocked up for at least a month so may as well :)

Ds often has different meals as his sensory issues and autism make him rigid with food and he doesn't tend to like ingredients mixed together (ie Spanish chicken etc) preferring seperate items!

Monday: Me- HM meatballs (made with parmesan and tobasco,no breadcrumbs!) and sauce with veg spaghetti
Ds- HM burgers, wedges and chunky veg

Tuesday: Me- HM Spanish Chicken with leafy greens
Ds- HM Greek yoghurt, garlic and cumin marinated chicken breast with roasted veg and sweet potato

Wednesday: Me- (obviously HM lol)Pork and pepper stir fry
Ds- HM southern fried chicken legs, chips, onion rings and veg

Thursday: Both- HM toad in the hole with cauliflower cheese

Friday: Me- HM Lamb tagine with cauliflower rice
Ds- Smoked Haddock with minted new potatoes and steamed veg.Followed by whatever treats he cooks in school ;)

Saturday: Me- Spanish omelette with bacon and salad
Ds- HM Chicken pie with new potatoes, veg and lashings of gravy!!

Sunday: Both- Roast chicken with herby roast potatoes, garlic roasted veg, cauliflower, yorkshire puds and ten tonnes of gravy followed by HM Apple crumble with ten tonnes of custard ;)

Monday: Me- HM Chilli con carne with parmesan and cauliflower rice
Ds- HM mummys special mix- everything- with-nandos- sauce- and- yoghurt marinated chicken :rotfl: with jacket potato and herb roasted red onion and carrot.

As you may guess from the above,I have to eat a different meal from ds to prevent serious boredom lol:D bless him :)
