Short holiday in Tenerife for a bit of warmth

I went to Los gigantes/ puerto de santiago last year and it was great,
The beach is lovely. The pictures don't do it justice as its black sand.
I would recommend using travelsupermarket and do a comparison on car hire. We used autoriesen clicked through the compare site and it worked out about £100 for 10 days car hire for a Citroen c4.
You also get free baby seat rental if required and you can pick it up right outside the airport.0 -
Puerto de la Cruz is the place to stay in the north.
Travel there via Mount Teide - it's the slow route but very scenic. In fact you could spend a night in the Parador at the top which is quite an interesting place, quite unlike anything you will see elswhere on the island

If you are short of time skip Santa Cruz which in my view is not very different from other maritime cities
If you get the chance eat here:

Certainly the best fish we've had in Tenerife - try the Dorada (Bream), you won't be dissappointed0
