Why is it dishonest?
I've used accued holiday to (effectively) reduce the time that I actually worked after I've handed in my notice.2014 Target;

Termination pay? never heard of that. I was merely a part-time no body so I don't think I get any termination pay.. I will just ask in person when it will be paid.
Thank you

It's just the way you worded it:
Why not say you are going back before April but would like to use your holiday by the end of the holiday year - and then resign so effectively your usng your holiday entitlement as part of your resignation period
personally I do have a bit of a bugbear about women who have no intention of going back but string their employer along just to accrue hols. If they had let their employer know at least they could have sorted out the recruitment aspect IMHO.
Buts that's just my opinion

I haven't strung mine along, I did intend on going back. However I have decided to take up my opportunity at University. This is why I won't be waiting until the last week in March to resign where I would accrue a full years Holiday.0

I only do 10 hours per week.
Full timers I believe get 21 days
Hope that helps0 -
the statutory minimum is 28 days, including bank holidays, so I hope that 21 days has the BHs paid on top ...I only do 10 hours per week.

How many days pw do you work? are they always the same length? If so, you should get your no. of days divided by 5 times 29 for a full year.
If not, we need to know how many hours pw a full timer does, then it would be 10 hours divided by f/t hours x (29 x f/t hours)
Don't take my word for that ...Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

I wasn't referring to you.

I have now worded it in my notice letter as mentioned above.
Just to confirm that I am entitled to accrued holidays if I quit? I don't want to look silly by going in to be told there's a clause saying I can't have my holidays
Thank you0 -
When is the holiday year,
when did you go on maternity
when are you handing in your notice, what is the notice period, what is the last day.
When did you start work.
What is the notice the company needs to give you.
how mnay hours do you work what days.
What holiday do full timers get(including bank holidays)
What hours do full timers work
..........
If you went on maternity after the end of hte hoiday you you have lost hte previous years holiday so only get holidays that acrue from the new holiday year.0 -
Hello
I am currently on Maternity Leave and I am going to hand my notice in as I have decided to go to University and my OH can support our family comfortably.
I did not take any holidays before I left to go on Maternity, so will I get them after I resign? I cannot take my holidays now as I am on maternity pay (allowance).
I feel a bit screwed over to be honest. I was told I was not allowed to take my holidays before I went on maternity leave (In May) and I could take them when I got back. However, with my employer any holidays not taken by April are wiped, you don't get paid them if you have not took them. So I'm a little annoyed at that when I was informed which has contributed to my decision to leave.
So would I get them or not?
also, what do I write on my notice letter as I will not be 'working' my notice.
Thank you
You accrue all your holidays whilst on maternity leave. So unless you lost the hols by not taking them before the end of a leave year; they are still accruing up until you resign. You can take them at the end of your maternity and thus use them as your notice period.
They can't wipe them because you haven't taken them if you have been on maternity leave.
