Will I get remaining holiday pay when I leave whilst on Maternity leave
Comments

Should i include that on the letter? Just something like ' I would also like to request what will happen to the holidays I had accrued before I left and during my Maternity leave'. I may just ask my manager when I hand my notice, or not say anything and see what happens. They made my life very difficult during the end of my pregnancy and I just know if I go asking about this there going to be dicks about it.

Do i need to say anything about it in my notice letter? or is at an automatic thing, i dont want to come across as cheeky, but the fact they have tried to screw me out of it in the first place has made me want to take it!
My employer is a big company.
Thanks
I think a polite reminder may be necessary."fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, and wiser people so full of doubts." (Bertrand Russell)0 -
I wouldn't ask what's going to happen, I'd remind them of your entitlement and state that you would like to be paid now.Should i include that on the letter? Agree, in any resignation I've always included a couple of sentences along the lines of "I believe I'm entitled to x days leave, which I would like to take within my notice period. This means that my last day will be Y." Or "by the end of my notice period, I will be entitled to x days leave, for which I would like to be paid with my final salary."flashnazia wrote: »I think a polite reminder may be necessary.
Gives them a chance to disagree with you, but makes it clear you know what you're expecting!Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
lets go through this
you accrue holiday while on maternity leave so best to leave the last day possible.
Under some circumstances you get FULL pay while on notice even if on maternity so won't need to use holiday.
(how long have you worked there? what is the company notice to you?)
ALL unused holiday must be paid on leaving they cannot say it does not carry over.0 -
Ive put this
' I would also like to request what will happen with regards to Holidays I accrued before and during my Maternity Leave, that I have not taken'
I don't know how many days I have accrued, I was only part-time. It was something around 40 hours, which is still £200+ I wouldn't want to loose. I may leave it till around March so I accrue the rest.
There the type to argue with me, I just know it. I would have took my holidays before my maternity if they had not blatantly lied to me.

Also when would I request it to be paid? as I am not receiving a final salary from them as I'm on maternity allowance and not SMP0

MA has nothing to do with my employer, they haven't paid a penny Maternity to me. Therefore i'm confused when I can ask to be paid my holidays. Sorry i'm confusing myself here! My last pay from them was when I left in May.

Termination pay? never heard of that. I was merely a part-time no body so I don't think I get any termination pay.. I will just ask in person when it will be paid.
