Yes you are probably correct, it was not wise of me to reply with lol, yet it was a spur of the moment thing as i found the standard reply she gave amusing and expected. It probably doesnt help on my part that my wife is awaiting late delivery of 2 items atm from amazon, and we are not happy with their service which may have swayed my answers slightly toward the light hearted replies given to the expected standard retort of the lady helper.

If you can't trust yourself to be respectful then don't use a chat window. The other deliveries are only known to you, not to the operator.

The item was £5 so am i expected to accept the item and then pay for the return postage?. If so this leaves me with little choice but to keep it as the postage will probably amount to half the price at the least.

You see, normally I would say you should refuse the delivery, but given ALL the information we can get, from you and from doing a dummy order indicates that you misunderstood the next day delivery commitment.

Have you checked your order confirmation which Amazon send you? This contains the date of delivery - that would be proof beyond speculation.

You can refuse the delivery, although I would expect a fight to get your original postage back (despite what the law says the difficulty the seller could give you would far outweigh the gain of getting your original postage back).

I probably have not understood the 7 day statement thank you for bringing this to my attention, but then if this person were employed by me, i would expect them to know more on this matter.

You have completely misunderstood the regulation. You've continually repeated it to the operator, it wasn't until half way through your operator even had the chance to check if it had been dispatched or not.

Rather than indicating the operator was useless I think you've just found a couple of nights bedtime reading in the DSR documentation ;)

It is possible to order from an Amazon seller and still get Prime next day delivery provided that the item is shown as "Fulfilled by Amazon"
This is an item I purchased late last year and although it is showing as being sold by elevenfirst and not directly by Amazon, it still has Prime as an option.

    Items Ordered Price 1 of: TP-Link TL-WN822N 300MBPS High Gain Wireless N USB Adapter[Accessory]
    Condition: New
    Sold by: elevenfirst (seller profile)
    £15.70
Amazon Prime: One-Day Delivery is free

Very true, but the item under discussion has no fulfilled by amazon retailers.

I think the Amazon employee comes across as knowledgeable, courteous and patient; despite your behaviour. You come across as misinformed and unnecessarily unpleasant.

Me:Should have guessed the answer as in this day and age no one accepts responsabilty for anything unless they are tied down with a gun to their head :)

Oh well OP hoisted on your own petard! lol
  • Amazon send out small items in too large boxes; when you attempt to return the item via their on line system, the Post Office tell you that the item is too large for the affixed, pre printed label.

I have spent inordinate amonts of time trying to insert this simple fact into the respondants thinking; lo and behold, was told, use a smaller box!

Which is what I suggested in the first place.Do they read our messages properly?

Can they cope with something outside of a prestructured response?

Having complained about a wasted journey to the Post Office, they suggested I request using a courier, waiting in from 9 am to 5.30 pm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had made a point about " WASTED TIME"
