Tesco - getting currency instore

I'm not in a Tesco very often, otherwise I would just ask there, but are the in-store currency rates any different to those shown online? Also, do you need to pre-order, or just turn up? I just need about £400 worth of US Dollars, so was thinking of paying cash to avoid card fees. Would I get Clubcard points as well?

Unless you bank with Co-op/Smile, debit card charges for buying foreign currency in the UK are a thing of the past.

Have you looked into cheaper options than getting $ cash from Tesco?
Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks

Before going to the US I checked the rate in Tesco and it wasn't too bad and the cashier said that you got a better rate for £500 or more.

I also checked the rate using the Travel Money Max site (the link is on the MSE site) and, as I was travelling to London, picked some up at ICE at Waterloo station using a prebooked rate. This rate was quite a bit better than Tesco but if you can't get to one of their branches it doesn't help much.

Just ordered currency from Tesco today. It was near the top of MSE's foreign exchange website.

As I was going through the wizard, it said that if I used my Tesco Credit Card, there would be no cash advance or card handling fee! *Bonus*!
