Hi everyone
I have been a sky customer since 2010 but every time i move its been a new 12 month contract! I have sky talk tv and broadband. When I moved in to my current property in Feb last year the house was just a new build and it took sky until May to connect me. Having just called sky then say that my contract wont end until May this year. I am moving back to my parents at the end of the month and have asked if i can cancel there reply is I either need to take it ( my parents already within a contract with sky so can't do that ) or keep the direct debit and keep paying for sky I wont be using, very annoyed to say the least if there anything I can do?

Not if you are still in contract.
You can cancel but will have to pay the early cancellation fee.0 -
why are you being told every time you move its a new contract
after 12 months you will just go onto a 30 day rolling contract, if you move then all that you would be liable for are any installation costs, not the whole package0 -
That is what I would like to know the first time I agreed as wanted to stay with Sky anyway then the second time I knew I was still within the contract then the last time I moved i took TV with me and wasn't told a new contract, i didn't have sky for 3 months due to being a new build and BT time on connecting the line. When I spoke to someone today they told me the TV is ALSO in contract until May! I am just so confused as to what is right or wrong. Surely if he knows I have been a customer since 2010 then who in the right mind has a 3 year contract?!!0

You don't have one contract, you have two or more (one for TV, one for phone, one for broadband etc). If the last move involved a new line provision then that always starts you on a new 12m line rental contract.
Sky pay all the costs of the home move but expect a new minimum term in return.
Would you expect Sky to install you a new line at a heavily subsidised prce and then allow you to leave the next month? No free lunch, and no free laptop
