could be anything from the control unit to the squib in the steering wheel. At £600 looks like they want to change the control unit or the squib, you need to get in detail what they want to do for £600.We have a Peugeot 406, airbag light keeps coming on! Just had it MOT'd and failed thanks to that light.
They want to fix something called the ECU??? costs £600 and might not even be the problem they said! My guess is its the wiring??? Is there anyway I can fix this? Or telling the mechanic? Hmmm really dont know what to do...
as a guide reading the codes is about £350 -
Try this (from earlier in this thread)hewhoisnotintheknow wrote: »turn ignition off, remove keys
under the drivers seat you will see an orange plug / wire
fiddle with this, see if it fixes it.
if not repeat the above but unplug the plug and plug it back in
if not, repeat on passengers side
Allways works for me.
Oh, and go somewhere else to get your car fixed in future, any mechanic who wants to spend £600 of your money on something that might not be the problem should never get the opportunity to do so.0
