Mines a dedicated Ford scanner and reads codes and does injectors etc.
My chinese copy of a MS scanner also reads airbag codes. Paid a lot less than £100. I think it came from the same factory that make them.
Never tried it on a peugeot though. Your right about it not clearing the fault. Airbag lights generally go off as soon as you fix the fault. Not like some engine codes that get stored.
Same as the ABS, Read the fault codes on a mates car recently and it showed the NSF sensor to be the issue. It gets its signal from the wheelbearing. He ignored it, Brakes work fine he said. About a month later the wheelbearing went.
So that was the issue all along. But he couldnt be bothered to get it checked.
Shows that even though you have a code, You still need to investigate it properly. Not jump in and say sensor fault fit a new one.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

Whats your scanner - it would be worth knowing which one out there does airbag lights and codes for not too much money.0 -
Seems they have changed the model numbers.. The manual i have says AUTEL but no serial number and no model number.
Not long after i bought it they stopped you dwnloading updates unless you have a serial number. Spoilsports.
Try the 101 or 702. Although they dont ring any bells. I had sheets of paper everywhere when looking at the proper prices and 2nd hand prices. Then up popped a chinese seller. Sold a batch and gone. Then another batch and gone.
I snapped one up when they appeared.
Does ABS and Airbags though.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

You can also just have the airbag deactivated.....0 -

under the drivers seat you will see an orange plug / wire
fiddle with this, see if it fixes it.
if not repeat the above but unplug the plug and plug it back in
if not, repeat on passengers side
+1.
Happened on my 406 HDi.
It's caused by the fore and aft movement of the seat, which pulls on the plug. That's my mutt in the picture above.0 -
We have a Peugeot 406, airbag light keeps coming on! Just had it MOT'd and failed thanks to that light.
They want to fix something called the ECU??? costs £600 and might not even be the problem they said! My guess is its the wiring??? Is there anyway I can fix this? Or telling the mechanic? Hmmm really dont know what to do...0
