Was this funded from PayPal funds? If it was 'in PayPal' funds then the refund should be instant and it should be possible.
The auto email would be for Bank Purchases and is nothing more than a standard template...0 -
Well I doubt the OP attitude help, they come across as a 3 year old, being told they can't have some sweets.
I appreciate they are disappointed, but these things happen and the bit of them saying "BS" to the company saying sorry, just sums up how completely unresonable the OP is frankly.
I recently ordered something from Ebay that wasn't in stock as too many people ordered at the same time, so some of us missed out, but the payment was still taken.
It was queried by paypal and returned to me in 3 or 4 days.
I didn't make a fuss, I just waited for the process to take place, a lot less stressful and a quick refund given.
I find the best way to get what you want is to remain polite, if someone spoke to me the way the OP has, then I would make it my personal duty to hold up the refund as long as the law allowed.0 -
I got my money back, you can all think what you like for all I care.0

I'm not defending anybody but why do we need to wait days for cheques to clear or money to be transfered when we live in the computer age.I think the surest sign that intelligent life exists elsewhere in the universe is that none of it has tried to contact us.0

its silly practice from the retailer- msot shops when you return items for a refund, the refund often gets credited to your account long before the original payment is taken off.0

Yesterday, I purchased a tablet that was brand new and for sale on eBay from a company called "www.buyitdirect.co.uk". They took my payment via paypal and this morning I got this email from them:
Dear Steve **********
Thank you for your order.
We regret to inform you that part of your order is no longer available from our suppliers. Occasionally we will experience a time delay on product information, whereby a manufacturer will no longer have stock and will discontinue a product before we are able to update our systems.
Our Sales Team will be in touch shortly to discuss alternatives. Our expert team will, wherever possible, be able to offer you a similar product to your first choice.
You are under no obligation to change your order and have the option of a full refund. We do however recommend speaking to our team first as we can normally offer an alternative to meet the same criteria and needs.
Our apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused. If you need any further assistance you can contact us on 0844 412 4550.
Kind Regards,
eBay

I called them immediately and they told me that they were "sorry" (B.S.) and that I could have a refund in 48 hours. I told them that they didn't have to wait 48 hours on my buy it now payment and that I demanded the money back now. They refused, so I contacted paypal and this is the letter they sent them:
On 03/01/2013 16:40, Europeanservices@paypal.com wrote:
Dear Nicholas Glynne,When I questioned them about the 7 to 10 working days for my refund, they told me "Sorry sir, there's nothing we can do about it"
We were recently contacted by Wulfrune@************.co.uk regarding the following payment you received:
Buyer’s eBay User ID: wulfrune
Payment date: 2nd January 2012
Payment amount: 154.97
You have contacted this buyer to advise that you do not have the item in stock and you are going to be issuing a refund to the buyer. You also advised the buyer that it will take you over 48hrs in order to issue this refund.
I would highly recommend you issue the refund with immediate effect as the buyer paid in good faith and the payment completed to you on the same day 2nd January 2012.
Failure to do so will result in the creditor filing a dispute against you or a credit card chargeback.
Regards
Claire

This email came through to me whilst I was on the phone to them for a 2nd time, only this time they said they had to put me on hold. They then told me that they'd cancelled the order and that they'd send me an email:
Order Received | Order Cancelled

Needless to say I got mad and demanded my money back right away and the guy said "Sorry sir, there's nothing we can do about it"
I kept on and he once more said "Sorry sir, there's nothing we can do about it"
And one final time "Sorry sir, there's nothing we can do about it".
Now, it doesn't end here. They're STILL advertising this item as in stock on the eBay:

Check it out for yourselves.

looking at the number of negatives you have left over time, it looks like you have had more than your fair share of problems on ebay... bad luck maybe0 -
My favourite
"All plants were either dead or dying, all have died now. No reply from trader"
And the reply
"You bought them 6wks ago it is not our fault you can't keep them successfully!!!"One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0
