An awful lot of media outlets have a fair amount of property related advertising. ......A house isn't a home without a cat.
Those are my principles. If you don't like them, I have others.
I have writer's block - I can't begin to tell you about it.
You told me again you preferred handsome men but for me you would make an exception.
It's a recession when your neighbour loses his job; it's a depression when you lose yours.0 -
There are vested interests - those that make money directly out of property - think estate agents, mortgage lenders etc. But for the most part I'm unconvinced by the whole vested interest in the meeja thing.
Shows like Property Lada, Repossession Repossession Repossession and Not Selling Homes Abroad are all popular - though I really think the meeja are missing a trick here (with the exception of SHA) - the proles, especially me with property programmes, like car crash TV. We love to see people lose their shirts over some ill-conceived plan to convert a two-bed council flat in the roughest part of Possil Park* into a yuppie penthouse apartment.
*Apart from when I got lost wandering round Panama City & ended up in a part of town which, I later found out, is specially mentioned by the US state department, Possil Park in Glasgow is the scariest place I've been."Mrs. Pench, you've won the car contest, would you like a triumph spitfire or 3000 in cash?" He smiled.
Mrs. Pench took the money. "What will you do with it all? Not that it's any of my business," he giggled.
"I think I'll become an alcoholic," said Betty.0 -

The daily mail group owns fish4 homes and primelocation.com
Lynz,
Slight correction - Daily Mail (Associated Newspapers group) do own Primelocation, as well as Findaproperty and Homes & Property (the London Evening Standard property website), but they don't own FISH4.
FISH4 are owned by a consortium of local newspaper groups including Trinity Mirror and Newsquest:

Is this the same Daily Mail that's been running with the same three headlines over the past 10 years:
- Europeans are all horrid chaps who want to dominate us decent Brits
- Foreigners are taking over
- House prices are due to collapse any day now (no, really they are !)
It's been the same old rant from them every episode over the past decade0 -
