Also stick to your word. Cancel. Many threaten to cancel so they are used to it. You have to give 30 days notice anyway so in the unlikely event of them not listening during giving notice then go through it. If they don't call you which they are likely to do then call back at day 28 and say you have had a change of heart.According to ABBA apparently it's a rich mans' world . . .:p0

OP - Research, check the switching sites, see if line rental and broadband would be cheaper elsewhere. If you have the facts rather than just empty threats to leave they know you mean business. Don't threaten to leave to Virgin unless you are in a Virgin area, people try this that can't get Virgin and Sky know it.
Last time I wanted to reduce my package, I got free line rental for 12 months, which is up this month :-(0 -
I rang Sky last week to speak to cancellations as I am paying 21.00 a month for TV and have been with them for two years.
They reduced my monthly fee to £5.00 a month for 3 months, if I still want to cancel at the end of the 3 month period I can do so or talk to them again.
I thought that was reasonable, and it will give me time to consider my options.
Can anyone tell me that at the end of the 3 months if I do cancel (I only have a sky digital aerial) will I still be able to watch freeview through my sky box/aerial? I know I wont be able to use the Sky plus box to pause, record etc. Thanks0 -
No, you can't get Freeview on your old Sky box. Freeview is a terrestial service via an aerial.
You will receive the Freesat From Sky channels instead.
If you already have a working aerial then you can already get Freeview anyway. Your TV has a built in Freeview tuner (unless it is very old).
There is no such thing as a 'Sky digital aerial'; do you mean a Sky dish?No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Yes I meant a sky dish. No I dont have any other working aeriel, just the dish.0

My sister is with sky for tv, sky sports, unltd broadband, unlimited phone and sky line rental. Today I got her a 25% reduction on sky sports for 3 months. You might be able to get that if you wanted to keep sky sports. I've already got the line rental for £3 pm for her for a year by moving it from BT to sky although I realise that doesn't help you as you are with them already but might help someone.0
