Reduce my sky bill

I have Sky and I need to try and reduce the bill but I find shopping around so confusing, let alone haggling!
Currently I have.
Sky Sports and Movies for £55.50
HD for £10.25
Phone Line for £14.50
Broadband connect £17.00
Total £97.25
I know that I can knock HD on the head as we don't really watch HD channels.
We can knock movies off too and get net flicks although we're we live our broadband is slow so net flicks will be painful.
Can I get a cheaper phone line as we only need this for the internet?
Can we get a lower cost broadband deal?
Whats the haggling technique? I rang them the other week and they just said Ok when I said Id leave?

Just cancel the movies and HD if you don't watch them. I can't see you getting cheaper broadband and telephone. If you can't access Netflix etc properly, why not go the more traditional route of renting DVDs?0

Cancelling sports, movies and hd should save around £25 - £30.
Your broadband is expensive as well, is this a really old package you havent changed for years.
Have you put the cancellation in, if not just ring them and tell them your cancelling becuase its to expensive, telling them your going to virgin becuase its cheaper is a good tactic, but you need to look up virgin packages so you can be convincing when you speak to them.0 -
The OP doesn't appear to want to cancel Sport.Cancelling sports, movies and hd should save around £25 - £30.
Sky are currently allowing cancellations to proceed, so the OP may find themselves without any service at all (as well as no discount).Have you put the cancellation in, if not just ring them and tell them your cancelling
Cancelling (or threatening to) is no longer the bargaining tool it once was.0 -
In that case then the OP may have to decide to either cancel the subs or pay for them.0

Correct, threatening to cancel does not have any impact these days. I've just got of the phone to them, cancelled the HD and said I'm going to to to Talk Talk to get my phone and broadband as it's cheaper and they said thats fine just call Talk Talk now and they handle the switch over for me, not attempt to keep my custom at all.0

Yes, I've cancelled HD. Gutting really as the football is wicked in it. Will try netflix and then see if we can cancel the movies too.0

As I said earlier, if Netflix quality is poor due to your broadband speed, consider using DVD rental (or purchase) to replace Movies. If you do cancel Movies, you'll still have TCM, Film4, Sony and a host of other channels showing films (albeit with ads).phrophet02 wrote: »Yes, I've cancelled HD. The first thing to do is to get rid of the awful Sky Connect broadband.
Do a samknows check and see if there are any LLU operators at your exchange.
You can pay 12 months line rental up front to reduce the annual bill.
As others have said, cancel the sports and movies. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
penrhyn is spot on, Sky Connect is a waste of space, especialy at that silly price. See what your LLU options are, if any, for phone and broadband
Reducing the TV spend is in your own hands,No free lunch, and no free laptop
