I WOULD BE SO GRATEFUL IF YOU TOOK THE TIME TO READ THIS.
Hey , i want to get your thoughts on the current situation me and 7 of my friends are currently in.
We had arranged a holiday to KOS for 10 days from the 2nd July to the 12july . We had our tickets for this printed the week before and we packed for our holiday. We got to the airport on the 2nd only to be told that there was no flight on that day to KOS. infact it turns out our whole holiday had been changed from 10 days to 7 days and all 8 of us were completely oblivious as no one had been told and our tickets still confirmed that out original booking was still correct. Bemused by this we were told to go to the desk of the holiday operator ( am i allowed to name this??? ) and were told to wait in the terminal. We were dealt with by a woman reprsenting the company who offered us two options
1. Get a coach to London and then fly to KOS the next day
2. Fly to Bodrum and then get a ferry to KOS
The woman was originally very helpful however she became increasing un professional towards us and we bagn to ring our parents who became worried so they rang the operator store in which we had orignally booked to complain and this got back to the women who was currently dealing with us and she became increasingly irritated. We also had no sterling money as we were meant to have been flying to KOS and we were refused any food vouchers by the operator until we rang head office begging.
Anyway we decided to do option 2 and we were told that we would be met in Bodrum by a taxi and then driven to out hotel. It became apparent on the plane that this was not the case. We bagen to talk to the flight attendant staff about what had happened to us and they put it upon themselves to help us out. They used their online phone to ring their colleagues in Bodrum to assess our situation. It became apparent their was going to be no taxi waiting for us therefore they brought it upon there selves to sort us out, this isn't even their job !! . When we left they also gave us some spare food as another lie we had been told was that we would have inflight food and we didn't get this.
We arrived in Bodrum , stayed in out hotel and we were picked up at 7 am ( i think ) to catch a ferry to bodrum. However, once again when we got off the ferry we were not greeted by the taxi we were promised and had to pay our own taxis getting to our hotel. We also had to pay 10 euro to get into Bodrum !!
There is more to this story if anyone wants to hear it i'll just skip to the end. We have been pursuing this since July it is now January. After many calls and letters and failed communication between this fligth operator and us they gave us an offer off £330 vouchers of their operator between 8 of us. We are disgraced by this . This amount is meant to cover ;
1. The diffrence in flight prices between Bodrum and Kos
2.The taxi fares we had to pay ( we gave them our receipts for this and they lost one !! )
3. The entrance fee to bodrum
4. compensation
5. food we payed for on the plane
Please , please , please give me your views and what you think the plan of action should be next !

Hi,
Try reposting on holidaytruths.co.uk - they have a holiday complaints forum there.

3. The entrance fee is a visa fee which is unavoidable and should have been made clear but its only a tenner to be fair.
5. You didn't have to eat on the plane.
Good luck with the others.0 -
You may be due compensation for the flight cancellation
Who did you book through? which airline was it (that you originally booked)?
I suspect that the airline will say that they gave the agent the information re the changes and blame them for not advising you
The agent may well say that they were not notified by the airline
Has your travel insurance been of any help?0 -

We hardly got any vouchers for food
and we didn't know the flight attendants would kindly give us some. I think you're missing the point though
This should never have happenned and no body is taking the blame for it. 0 -

That's what i thought but we were advised to go through the operator and not the insurance but i can't remember why , do you think that would have been the better option ? You're exactly right nobody is taking the blame which is why i think it should go futher.0 -
If you booked through an agent, they should be demanding that the airline provides the evidence of advising about the change and proof of when they did this.
As you were not given over 14 days notice of the cancellation of the flight then you have a claim under EU261/2004. This is a fixed fee based on the distance of the flight
The fact that your holiday was changed from 10 days to 7 would also imply that someone is due you a refund for the additional accommodation you paid for
I would advise the agent (if this was me) that you want written confirmation from them that the airline did not advise them of the flight cancellation as you are making a compensation claim direct from the airline....this may yet to the bottom of who is to blame here...0 -

I did think about the EU261/2004 tbh if was suggested to me by a friend. I do think that would be worth while. Well , the operator said that they sent an email to place that we booked the holiday however, they are saying that they did not retrieve this. Thankyou i will take that into account

haha oh dear . We are all students ,if they had offered £30 money it may have been that we would have taken it. The fact it was vouchers for a company we never want to travel with again is why i wrote on this forum to ask whether it would be worth pursuing. Don't want to stereotype from the picture but it seems you may be abit of a muppet also. Please don't comment back on my this forum if you are not willing to offer advice. Thankyou
Look, I offered advice. The reality is you were shafted, though I don't for one second believe you wasn't informed of the change. I've had airlines in Nepal that have been nothing but a Cessna and a guy working fifty hour days inform me of changes.
You are out to scam a company that you think owes you a free living. It happened, got sorted in the end and left you hardly out of pocket.
Get over it.0 -

I do understand what you're saying but as i said i was only writing on here to get advice . Please can you delete that picture ? it just isn't something i want see all the time ?0 -
Hi NMC123 - I'm a newbie too and I can't believe the treatment you're getting on here!
It sounds like they screwed up a lot! Have you written a formal letter of complaint - there should be some form of complaints procedure on their website for you to follow. You should put who they are - name and shame! :-)
I have a prob too... but if that's the way people treat people on here I'm not sure I want to write about it to be fair...
Good luck with it :-)
PS Student or not we all deserve a break!0
