Car loan with CCJ

Van anyone recommend a trustworthy, reputable company to secure a loan for a new car for someone (me) who has a not so good credit rating?

I have a CCJ from 5 years ago and therefore it will disppear from my credit report next year. I intended to wait until then and rebuild my credit score. However annoyingly my car has died now. I need a car for work.

The CCJ is the only negative thing on my report, however quite a setback as people here will know.

I'm looking to get a loan for a car and accept I will pay a much higher APR. But can anyone recommend a good company? I'm wary that there are a lot of cowboys out there. I'm looking at about £9000 or thereabouts.

I need to get this sorted asap as i'm losing money.

Cheer in advance.

No chance of any respectable or even semi-respectable deal with that CCJ.

Brokers, liars, crooks all await you.

You're crossing second hand cars with bad credit....always a recipe for disaster.

Ask to borrow £500 from a friend or relative and as said get a banger for a year. Then in the next year SAVE up some money for a better car, rince and repeat till you have a nice car you want. Much nicer feeling having saved up for a nice car imo.

Great advice. You speak the truth. I am being far too hasty. I will get a temporary set of wheels.

Why do you think a trustworthy, reputable company would lend you money when you have already shown that you are apparently neither trustworthy or reputable yourself. As you have proved by someone needing to get a CCJ against you.
You could get an utterly reliable car like the one I am driving for much less than £1000. Sorry to sound a bit harsh, but trustworthiness works both ways.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.

27 Col - You have absolutely no bloody clue what I went through and what my family went through and the horrific consequences that occurred to receive said CCJ. So with all due respect shut the hell up and take your assumptions elsewhere.

If you knew the story you would understand. But I don't wish to divulge on here. I just wanted advice in the situation I'm in now.

A CC'j bankruptcy etc everyone has some heartbreaking story but the reality is lenders go on whats on your credit files and that's it.

Agreed. But I thought the idea of asking questions here was to share advice and not be judgemental. I never asked for sympathy I asked if there was a loan company that can be trusted to lend to me albeit at a high apr because of my ccj. The answer was no. Cool. I did not ask people to speculate on whether I can be trusted. I feel it is fair to ask if loan companies can as there are actual criminals out there in business.

You didn't do anything wrong. You asked if there was a place to obtain a loan and described your situation so that people could help.

Unfortunately too many judgemental people frequent these boards, all ready to put the boot in (too scared to do it to people in real life, see).

Good luck with either finding credit (unlikely in all honesty) or getting a banger for £1000 or less, which is more likely a realistic option.
