If you want to do very basic editing such as cropping, joining, red eye removal, brightening or putting labels on pictures then I find irfanview very userfriendly and well covered on youtubeI'm Glad to be here... At my age I'm glad to be anywhere!!

This thread is exactly what I was searching for, so thanks! On Facebook, I keep seeing photo's that look 'retro,' a bit tatty and old, yet they are not. Any idea how this is done please? Complete novice on this front but really enjoying learning.0

If you have irfanview, click image, effects, sepia
If you have fotosketcher, use vintage photo, click draw
