I could be wrong but i believe apple does not let you swap accounts over to prevent you from illegal copying of music, thats why itunes lets you put music on but not take it off back to your pc.

I would use a third party product, i prefer floola as its free, easy to use.
Use this to copy all of your music from your ipod to your new pc.
Then if you want to use itunes install it on your new pc. It should let you re-purchase anything previously bought at no cost.
For anything not bought through them (i.e cd's you own and ripped to it), thats where floola comes in as you can then put them back on again.

Floola has another neat little advantage. If you select (through itunes) to have the ipod work as mass storage, you can then put floola on your ipod. This means you can run it from itself on any pc meaning you can share your music with others or have them share theirs with you.

Install iTunes on your new computer.
Copy the contents of the iTunes folder (located in your Documents folder) from the old computer to the Itunes folder on your new computer.

    That's it.
Understeer is when you hit a wall with the front of your car
Oversteer is when you hit a wall with the back of your car
Horsepower is how fast your car hits the wall
Torque is how far your car sends the wall across the field once you've hit it

As Quiet Spark have said, copy the media content of your iTunes folder and paste it in your laptop. However, you'll have to sync your iPod with the laptop. This will erase all your data in your iPod as you are only allowed to sync music with only 1 PC.

confused with this ? .... but won't syncing it with new laptop after copying over .. then load it back on to the ipod from the new laptop when connecting to sync ?

penny - yes. You MAY find yourself wiping the iPod, then syncing the music straight back over again, IF iTunes works out that it's on a different computer. Copying the entire iTunes folder will avoid this, I THINK!
The library on your computer is the important part.
