Hi, I've been attempting to rip my DVD's into MP4 format so i can transfer to my kindle and watch offline. Trouble is most software downloads are a free trial and then pay, one let me rip a dvd but i had to put up with its logo on the film. I use DVDshrink, ancient but still works.

The subtitles in english movies where there is nonenglish dialogue are called forced subtitles. From memory DVDshrink can handle these as well.
