Creditor Meeting Tomorrow, scared!!!

Hi Guys
So its my creditors meeting tomorrow with Grant Thornton,
I am very nervous about it all, hope it goes my way.
I would not have a clue what to do if they do not accept.
Its taken a while to get to this stage, doing research and looking into debt management plans.
Now I am already trying to budget and survive without living on debt.
Im not to much bothered about bad credit ratings, I dont want credit ever again...
I cant buy a house
so unless I win the lottery or get a MASSIVE pay rise this is how its gonna be for 5 years and beyond.
Infact if my IVA is accepted as long as we stick to budget, we should in theory live better than what we were.
No more building up debt and borrowing to pay for stuff, or borrowing just to live.
We hope a few years down the line we can earn more and hopefully come out of this stronger.
Of course there are feelings of guilt, but we could not carry on like we were. this IVA could be the start of a new beginning for us.
Guys if you are struggling with debt please dont ignore it, take action on it like we have dont be afraid.
There can be a light at the end of the tunnel.
Thanks
Marcus

Dont worry too much about the creditors meeting. Grant Thornton should have done everything to make sure it goes through.
Remember only a few creditors need to agree for the rest of your creditors to have to agree to it.
When I started my IVA only 3 of my creditors agreed the other 7 didn't even attend so they were automatically put into it.
An IVA shouldn't be taken lightly it's very hard, you will have basically no money apart from what your budget allows. Christmas is the worst time I have just done my first.0 -

Hi Marcus,
I'm sure it will be fine - I remember the pre-CM nerves as well.
Grant Thornton are a huge company, and as I recall, you were referred to them by CCCS, so I am sure it will go well.
Do let us know how it all goes though.
Fingers crossed.0 -

Hope it went well today, I'm sure GT will have sorted it so you'll get through without a hitch.
I remember ours, our nerves were only really settled by having confidence in our advisor. There were a couple of T&C's to be amended in ours but didn't affect our budget so we accepted and alls good.
4 payments in now and the guilt has all but gone and we do feel we're living a better life than when loaded with debt, such a good feeling having paid for Christmas although it has been tougher this year with a fixed amount of money and January being a long month for us (not paid till 31st)Roll on DFD, final payment 1st October 2017 :beer:0 -
