Hi, just need some advice really as my contract is due for renewal soon and I want to make sure I make the right choice. I currently have a Blackberry and don't want another one of those. I am with Three and want to stay with them because my partner is on the same network and we can get free minutes to ring each other.
My partner has the Samsung Galaxy Ace which I was wanting at first as the contract is fairly cheap. I am tempted by the newer Galaxy phones though but I don't want an expensive contract.
I am also tempted by the Iphone and Three are doing the
Iphone 3 for a reasonable price but I have been told that Iphones are not good because you are just restricted to Apple apps.
I want the phone for ringing, texting, music, Internet, and I also like to use certain apps like to do lists and expenses and I now use my phone as a diary so like the calendar to be good.

All smart/superphones will do what you require, it's pointless getting into a iphone vs any other phone thread, the devices suit the individual requirements and budget, I still say to anybody forget the Ace and consider the Ace 2, for around £200 or less you can pick up a great handset, then couple that with a low monthly sim only deal (after all it's the bill every month that you see)
Just as Iphones are restricted to Apple apps, Android phones are restricted to android apps , so that is a pointless rgument.
Blackberry 10 looks very appealing, but I have just read an article suggesting iOS 7 is about and an iphone 6, another article suggests the S3 is again the top seller with apple falling down the ranks0 -
I'm no fanboy, infact I avoid apple like the plague, I don't know why really, its just a prejudice.
My daughter has just had the iphone5 for her birthday. I have to admit I'm tempted! I've a galaxy one and the battery power is pants. 8 hours and its dead.
However, as the guide here says, there is no cheap iphone, my son has the galaxy ace 2 and I have to admit its a very nice phone and probably more up to date than a iphone 3.But if ever I stray from the path I follow
Take me down to the English Channel
Throw me in where the water is shallow And then drag me on back to shore!
'Cos love is free and life is cheap As long as I've got me a place to sleep
Clothes on my back and some food to eat I can't ask for anything more0 -

The iPhone 3 (or 3GS) is pretty old, the 4 is likely to be discontinued 3Q of this year so think about at least getting a 4S or 5.
Iphone are resticted (unless you jalbreak them) to apps fomr the Apple Store, but not to only Apps by Apple, many other companies have written apps and put them in the App store.sixtiesgal wrote: »I want the phone for ringing, texting, music, Internet, and I also like to use certain apps like to do lists and expenses and I now use my phone as a diary so like the calendar to be good.
Either phone will do all of these..0 -
I'm bias, but i would highly recommend the iPhone. If you don't get one, you will always wish you had.0

There is no 'right choice' of handset* so don't stress too much about it. There are loads of handsets that will do what you want. Go to a shop and try some out and see what you think. Nobody can tell you whether you'd prefer Apple or Android with certainty.
*Choosing the right network/tariff for your needs is arguably more important, but if you're happy with 3 then this is less of an issue.0
