Hi Sofia, also in similar situation! Recently gone on leave in prep for LO to appear and realised how hard it's going to be while I'm on SMP.

Will be very 'interesting' to see how we manage on penny's (literally!!)

I must admit in my job I'm very lucky in that my employer offers me a good maternity package. However this time I am taking the full 52weeks off and the last 12is unpaid.

Me and hubby had a chat about this when I discovered I was pregnant (whilst on the coil:eek::eek:, so Deffo not our immediate plan); and basically nursery for 2kiddlets is over £1000 a month and only earn £852. So realistically I would either stay home for the last 3months not getting a wage or go to work and pay more than I earn on childcare.

Again we're lucky in the sense we only have 6months of both in nursery when I'm due back march 2014. Our DD is due to start school full time in the sept of that year. We just need to survive this hard and expensive period.

How long have you got left before LO is due to make an appearance??

    YMS xx
  • Thinking I may start a diary in the debt free board, just not sure if people will be out off by the fact I not in debt. Don't want to annoy anyone. Will start looking a lot more at the old style and get posting on that.

No-one will mind at all .... would also recommend doing the SOA (you could do this in your new diary ;)) as I bet there are some areas where a little cut or 2 could be made - it's often only when someone else goes " you pay HOW much?" that we find out we're not getting the best deal possible!:D

Look forward to seeing you over there

THIS is exactly the time to be on this site, before you get into debt and can change things so you don't end up in debt!

It's times like this when people are feeling frantic, worried, scared, see an advert on the tv for a pay day loan and think 'oh that's a perfect solution to my problems!' (not saying you personally, but people in general)

I have a diary on the dfw section. Not in 'too' much debt, it's more a way for me to ramble and other people to tell me to stop being an idiot :rotfl:

Can't think of anything smart to put here...
  • This is also a great site here : http://www.cheap-family-recipes.org.uk/

From what I've read it it was started by Weezl who is legendary on the Old Style boards.
