Please Help with orange

Options
Good evening and happy new year!
I've been having an awful time with orange and would really appreciate some help.

I began a new contract with orange in November after an initial two year contract. I got a good deal and was pleased when my new phone arrived, however on the 6th December (my birthday!!) my phone was disconnected. I called them and after a lot of fussing they told me there was an accidental disconnection notice on my account. The guy sorted me out and reconnected me. Fine.

Today, I woke up to a £722 direct debit from orange come out of my account. This has put me into an un authorised overdraft and defaulted several direct debits. I have called the bank but they couldn't reverse the payment today as bank holiday. Orange basically said 'whoops' and as there was no manager available they are calling me tomorrow to attempt to sort it.

My questions are - what should I be looking for in terms of compensation , if any, from orange and what sort of thing should I be saying?

An help appreciated. Many many thanks

a refunded dd and £5 calls
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

    !!!! !!!!!!!!! !!!!!!! !!!!!! !!!! !!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!! !!!! !!!!!! !!!!!!!!!! !!!!!! !!!!!

And don't hold your breath waiting for their call.

Also, I hope that the bank immediately refunded you regardless of reversing the payment - this is what they were supposed to do under the DD guarantee.
  • They didn't no - said as a bank holiday it'd be 12 tomorrow before any money comes back in.
  • Ask Orange to pay all your fees you have incurred due to their mistake.

It always amazes me that they can take the money out of peoples accounts quick enough but to pay it back takes days even sometimes weeks.
