Daft with money

  • I know what you mean about saving. I'm hoping to have £500 left from wages at the end of this month and will put £100 in savings and the rest will be split between my two cards.

As my OH doesn't know i feel i have to save some money.

I have an added incentive now as we are seriously considering moving house and although it will likely be in 2015 i need to reduce my debt by as much as possible as we will be applying for a joint mortgage (not done this before as OH took mortgage out in his name then added me later as we had only been together a year when we bought the house). I don't want my debt being a stumbling block as if it is i will have to tell him then!

How are you getting on with reducing your debts? I love being able to update my signature and see the amounts falling.

  • Had an unavoidable couple of SPEND days :( Family members birthdays & meals so I had to spend.

Will not be able to pay extra to the CC this week, but there is nothing I can do.

Feel a bit low, i need to snap out of it, I got like this a few too many times last year, just feel a bit like a hamster on a wheel, i go around & around and get nowhere.

I am finding work hard, there are lots of changes taking place & it is unsettling, lots of people are unhappy and it makes it difficult to work in the environment.

When the days get longer and the sun is out I hope my mood will lift, I have always hated the start of the year, the dark miserable days make it difficult to feel positive.

Sorry for depressing anyone who may be reading !!!

  • Have awful PMT, really weepy, tired and the lack of motivation I feel is dreadful. I went back to bed after the school run, but never slept.

I cannot even summon the energy to walk the dog !

I am still plodding on, some weeks I stray and fall off the debt busting band wagon :o But, overall I am not doing too badly.

I never miss a minimum payment on the CC, as it is paid by direct debit, I try to pay a little over each month, not by much as I do not have much spare, but I try.

I have not used my free overdraft (been tempted at times )

I try to use cash as this keeps me focused, if I use my Debit Card I forget how much I have spent on it.

I need to fill my free time on FREE activities as my biggest problem is being bored so going for a wander in the shops. I have a garden in need of a good tidying, a dog who could walk forever and a mass of books on my Kindle to plod through. All of those are free, so i need to focus on the free things in my life !! :)

Where have these 6 months gone ? ! I continue to chip away at my mountain of debt, it does not make much difference as I only repay the minimum but that is all I can afford to do and it is interest free until the end of next year :)
