  • I am not sure what is happening to C&Co when RBS is finally re-privatised.

Well, not sure if this will be the case, but when they were planning to sell their branches in England to Santander, I got a letter reassuring me that 1 Fleet Street (Child & Co) was to remain as is.

Ohh crumbs imagine Child & Co being part of Santander. I would close the account on that basis alone.

I got my Child & Co branded debit card after upgrading to an Offline Card, which is the standard gold one others talk about.

I wonder if instead of selecting Child & Co as your chosen branch when opening your account online, you select Drummonds branch you would get Drummond branded debit card, cheque book & statements ?

No one on here has tried it yet. I would, but RBS won't let me open another Select current account.

Does anybody know if your RBS branch is closing if you can change to child and co and get the above?
  • Reading Wikipedia it appears that Child & Co seem to be favoured by the legal profession and academia

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Child_%26_Co.

and Drummonds by the Tory Party lol

  • It would be nice if Child & Co ended up splitting from RBS and being its own bank and then tightened up on the joining criteria - yet I could smugly sit here as a peasant having got in through the back door LOLOL

It will be interesting to see if they will switch you to Drummonds and give you Drummond branded material.

It's a shame what RBS have done to Child & Drummond. Turned them into nothing but a brand, when they used to be very prestigious Banks. I'm sure I read somewhere that Child & Co claim they were the first Bank to print a cheque.

RBS Group is like a spoilt child with to many toys.
  • Can you get Child & Co branded credit cards as well?
