Ok supermarket loyalty schemes whos best?

Last year we focused all our energy on sainsburys and nectar and dident earn an awful lot I know you can use in other retailers but have to spend £500 to get £2.50.

I think tesco club card points better as have option doubling up.
but we rarly shop at tesco these days..
we do mil weekly shop in sainsburys.is it worth switching to tesco?
e could possibly fill up petrol in tesco petrol station near hubbys work but sure if can earn on fuel?

Co-op keep offering us their loyalty card to which finally said yes as we do spend quite a bit in there ad hope it adds up.

I rarly shop in boots these days so could start using boots and advantage card again.Used to love the boots glitches. could help next xmas.

Any others I forgotton about?

Any tips for maximising or accruing points?

im sure we can be smarter.

I don't think any loyalty card is so good that I'd change my shopping habits. Comparing prices will always save you more. I do have loyalty cards though, and use them to get the maximum for the points. As you say, Tesco is good for doubling up. You can also get £15 worth of Thompson Morgan vouchers for £5 Tesco vouchers, which helps if you're a gardener. I save the nectar points and convert them into Amazon vouchers - £20 of nectar points will only give you £20 of Amazon vouchers, but I use them for discounted things at Amazon to get a better deal. With Boots, I use the points in the sale so again I'm getting more for my points.
So I'd say it's not so much searching for the 'best' loyalty card, it's best to search for the best prices, then use any points you get wisely to make the most of them.

    I've been Money Tipped!
I use Nectar and Tesco. Both give extras now and again, but Sainsbury's till spits like £3 off £20 can be good.
Morries (some) also accept other's coupons/vouchers which help.

Use a credit card which gives cashback/points when paying for added value, but and a big but, PAY OFF IN FULL EVERY MONTH.

You'll not save a fortune, but it all helps.

I agree price is my main thing.

but mil shop is always small
always same boring items normally ones not on offer,
makes no difference if we do it saisnburys or tesco metro.
We used to do it at somerfeild.
Shes happy for us to pocket the points.

Also petrol i think if esso with tesco shop canta crrue points. But if tesco branded petrol station attached to store we can and one very close minor detour from hubbys work literally 5mins drive.

we not big tesco shoppers anymore find them expensive.
we possibly shop there more this year for reductions/offers only.
we opcassionally buy clothes/non food as have 2huge extras and stand alone home store but tend to prefer asda living for that sort of thing.

Hubby has tesco credit card which accrues more points.

Not sure about co-op but we there once twice a week so will give their card a go.

boots tricky as hate self service in nearest now, get nappies lidls and find most palces cheaper and cant earn on medicines. maybe could get new glasses.

You can add a lot to your nectar points with their other offers like internet searching, ebay, adpoints etc. I am on a mission this year to collect as many as possible! Also getting the nectar credit card for more points. (I don't shop in Sainsburys often though hope to up this this year by shopping online and buying all their basics ranges!)

Hardly use tesco any more, though I did used to get a lot of points with them but it isn't worth it for me to shop there just for them.

  • down load the nectar toolbar - you get 100 points for this. you can also collect 100 points a month from searches using the toolbar.

I have linked my ebay account to my nectar card so if i shop on ebay i automatically collect points.

sign up to nectar daily deals and the nectar email as you get points for signing up to the daily deal. The emails have bonus points such as double points on your next in store shop if you click the box etc.

Our co op card maybe pays out once a year as we dont shop there alot, but it is nice to get some money off coupons through the post.

We shop online once a month at tesco and often get vouchers through the points offering extra points if we shop - sainsburys is the same extra points if shop with them.

im also on adpoints now after getting a link from nectar to sign up. Easy points!

  • Tesco is my favourite because can use points for days out done that a few times.I like sainsburys only because get points for searching on internet my points wouldn't go up as fast if it wasn't for that. Also like they give out double points voucher at till I like iceland aswell they give out money off vouchers at till. Not a fan of co op never got anything back said have to have stickers on products to get something back something along those lines anyway. If I don't get anything back by the end of this year going to cancel it.

The worst customer loyalty card has to be Waitrose's which gives you 1p off and a free cup of coffee/tea and a free Waitrose magazine.

I had a Nectar card but lost it and haven't bothered again. If I got to the huge Tesco Extra near my mother (it is beautifully airy and light wish it was Waitrose) I use the teeny Clubcard thing on keyring linked to my husband's card. Any vouchers we get he uses in Tesco Express.

I don't think they are worth doing for the customer, but invaluable for the supermarket !!

Disagree - you can get a free cappucino every day for no spend at all. Pretty good deal - but not really a loyaty card for me!

The Waitrose card IS a proper loyalty card, it is not a cheap bribe to get you in to buy second rate rubbish which is all the other cards seem to be.
I go to Waitrose because they are the best supermarket, not for "points" - if they want to give me a free coffee to go with my pecan and butterscotch yum-yum, that's fine too :D

(I don't use Ryanair either.....they seem to be cheap too ......:rotfl::rotfl:)
