I'm feeling a bit down today, probably due to the fact that the holidays are over and I have been back at work today, for a training day. It was fine and it was nice to see my work colleagues and hear their holiday tales, but I have missed DS so much today. It's like having to go through going back after maternity leave all over again, to be honest. Having spent every day together for the past six weeks, I found it hard to leave him this morning. He's probably had a lovely day with his grandparents, so he's not bothered :rotfl:
So, with that in mind, I need to get back to basics this month. There are some things that feel very overwhelming at the moment so I need to just take a tiny step back and take things one at a time.
So, September plans (my ramblings about them anyway):- NSDS - aiming for 20. I need to get back with having spend free days as it'll help our budget and stop the little spends that have crept in lately.
- Lose 8lbs - I am enjoying slimming world even though I am hit and miss during the weeks. I do feel better when I stick to plan, so going to try very hard to do this. Even though I had a bacon sandwich today
HoD bought me one at break time and it seemed rude not to eat it
- Read 2 books - I love reading and it's something that I find relaxing, so want to focus on this just for me. 10 minutes before bedtime each night, at least
- Get all of the wallpaper off the staircase and hallway. This has been stressing me for months and we have been living in a state of diy for ages. I want this done; I hate living in this mess. The wallpaper is seemingly stuck on with superglue and is a very slow process, but I need to get this done for peace of mind. We can then get the decorating done at the start of October; having a end in sight will make me feel so much better about this.
- Put at least £700 into savings - I'm so far behind on where we should be for our Ultimate Dream Fund challenge (see blog) but I need to focus on the month to month things and stop panicking about the bigger picture at the moment. Again, going back to basics will made this possible, I hope.
- Keep on meal planning - if I plan, I tend to stick to it more and spend less.
- No takeaways - need to stop this naughty habit. Will also help the budget and waist line!
- Finish my project that I'm working on? I'm deliberately being vague on this at the moment, but it's something I have been working on for a while, aside from the blog, that I hope to get up and running asap.

September 1st, 2016.
So, back to writing daily so that it focuses me and also I quite looking back at it later on to see the progress (or not!) that I make.
So, NSD 1 of the month today; I didn't take my purse to work so that helpsI'm hoping that every work day will be a NSD this month, if I still to my meal plan that is. I got a bit lax at this towards the end of the summer term, so I need to get back on this asap.
Meal planning also continues to play a big part. We had steak with a mushroom sauce for tea with chips, all homemade and slimming world friendly. Was really tastyI then had a little bag of maltesers for pudding. My little sweet treat of today
I transferred over £40.44 as an overpayment today, so make a good start of the month. My target for September is £100 so 40% of the way there on day 1I also transferred £0.27 to savings, not to be outdone :rotfl:
