Thanks for your replies guys, looks like I will only pop in there and buy their BOGOF or reduced items. I'm looking forward to having a nose around though:D

My local Somerfield also has good bargains (especially in meat) but the wine deals are also excellent & you also get a discount when buying 6 bottles. As others say, it isn't really somewhere you could do all your shoping, bu well worth popping in to see what has been reduced.

I sometimes get bargains in my local one, it used to be a Kwik Save. Some things are ok priced, some are overpriced but the offers are usually good. I tend to look through the leaflet which they door drop round here & see if I need anything off there. http://www.somerfield.co.uk/offers/index.asp available online to have a nosey. Value stuffs about same price as it is in other supermarkets, in fact the flour was cheaper than Tesco last time I bought some. Most deliver but like Iceland have to buy in store http://www.somerfield.co.uk/services/homedelivery/index.asp
One day I might be more organised...........
    GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb

I agree with that, our local one is terrible for price correlation between shelves and tills with stuff on offer!

I find Somerfields to be pretty poor in most aspects. Their offers are not very good compared to other supermarkets, and often the offers that you DO get end up not coming off the receipt automatically so you have to always check.

Worst of all, their fresh produce is very poor compared to anywhere else. We do most of our shopping at Somerfield as they are right in our village, but I LOVE going to any other supermarket when given the chance (Asda, Sainsbury's, Coop, Tesco) as their fruit and veg always amazes me by staying fresh and nice for days and days. Somerfield fruit and veg always goes off very quickly, regardless of the use by date.

I am supprised that they were even opening any new somerfields as they are closing them in Hampshire and turning them into a M & S foodstores or pet supplies stores, Alton Hampshire closed now a M & S foodstore, Liphook Hampshire a pet supplies store, Petersfield a M & S foodstore, Aldershot closed an over priced garage, Crangleigh Surrey M & S foodstore:p

I think this is true of most supermarkets, unfortunately the EPOS staff have to manually add about 50% of the offers to the till system because although they are supposed to go on from head office they rarely do. The till staff are usually aware of most of the offers but they cant know all of them especially as they change weekly so it really isnt their fault if you're charged £2.39 instead of £2 for two boxes of sugar puffs (for instance). I always tell my customers to check their receipts before leaving as its only two seconds to fix while they're still instore but if they leave checking till they get home its another journey to get it fixed.

Got a mini sommerfields near to where I live within 10min walk, they sell the essential items and not much of a range. It is much better than the kwik save it replaced as that was a run down doss house. The prices vary and tend to be more expensive than asda but i tend to get the bogof's or special offers from sommerfields. On the opening day they were giving out free mars bar to every customer.
    I hate migraines.
