Hi there Lucky - you've been busy!

Overpayment of just £5 to my Halifax card this week. Better than nothing!

  • This week I paid off £3707 and £2394 using ppi refunds to clear my remaining credit cards.

Thanks for running this thread it helped me pay off half the debt I owed before the refund to pay off the remaining amount.

I will be credit card free once one more payment is made to clear the remaining interest in 2 weeks time that they won't let me pay any sooner

Good luck to everyone and every single penny helps to overpay and get off those minimum payments like I was stuck on for all those years.
final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333

  • Amazing work guys! I've not claimed any PPI as I feel I was fully aware of it's limitations when I took it up, but really glad others benefit from the claims. Cheeky lot with the mis-selling!

£3.20 this week. Was on holiday in Spain last week, a lovely yoga break I've waited for all year.

However, I'm not sure how well this paying off my debts is working for me. I have a problem and perhaps am in need of a LBM and a more sober check of my debts...

I keep putting things on my credit card to pay off in instalments for future months - e.g. my ceramics classes. I have to pay three months worth in advance, which is too big a hit in one go. So I put it on the card and then pay back the card over the three months. Or the last part of my holiday - £200 for flights that will be paid off today as final payment. I don't really feel like I can claim these as paying off my debts for this challenge when I accumulate it at the same time as undertaking it. It's like cheating in some way. Does that make sense?

Basically, it means my debt is all over the shop and never really feels like it's going down. Does anyone else have that problem? Or do I need to have a bit of a kick? (I imagine its the latter).
