My local barely has anything left now after my OP, although i managed to get 2 jars of mincemeat for 10p each and some owl gloves for £1.80. Not much left but worth a look down every aisle!0

There was a few of the gifts in my local sainsburys too, bought a squeeze and giggle hello kitty toy for £4.50 from £15.00.0

Does anybody know if the alcohol gift sets have been reduced further? They were still only 50% off yesterday when the other gifts were 70% in my local0

Be strong. Step away from the left over Christmas tat. You know that you don't need it.
Just imagine it on the charity shop shelf when it becomes an unwanted gift. If you didn't want it or need it at full price then you don't want it or need it now.June challenge £100 a day £3161.63 plus £350 vouchers plus £108.37 food/shopping saving
July challenge £50 a day. £ 1682.50/1550
October challenge £100 a day. £385/£31000 -
Got some 75p wrap last night thanks OP.0

I think you'll find a lot of people buying are starting their 2013 christmas shopping, they didn't need it at full price because they already had their 2012 presents bought..... in last years sale. If you can't add to the thread maybe keep quiet?0 -

Actually I agree with you in principal.
I know people do buy "stuff" in the sales which they do not want nor need, but are just overtaken by the "I'm getting a bargain" mentality.
That is why stores bring out all their "tat" and "special offers" because they know people shopping in the sales will buy 'rubbish' they wouldn't normally even look at.
I admit I have done this in the past - and I have to be firm with myself still, because I cannot afford it, and I am fed up of having to de-clutter and end up throwing out 'bargains' I bought which have never been used.
On the other hand, as a seasoned MSEr I now buy things I really do want/need only when I think I have managed to get the maximum reduction, used at least one discount code, got free delivery AND got cash back from Quidco and points/£s from my credit card.
I have bought several things on-line today - most with 75% off, free delivery, quidco and credit card points..... and most have been sitting in my on-line basket for weeks waiting until the right time to buy. So they were not purchased on 'impulse', but after lengthy and considered research and planning.0 -
