You know, you're right. I shouldnt have put that.

I've removed it as i can how it would be considered inflamatory.

    Thank you Paul.

Come on now oul hand. I wasn't intending to snipe at you and I see Motorguy has amended his post to remove what was annoying you.

Nobody is deliberately trying to wind you up. :)

Look Glyn I couldn't care less.

I don't like the double standards, someone is great when they reinforce a shared, flawed view and are the "bigger man", yet you're blind to blatant pettiness.

Anyway, Paul has removed the remark and I respect him for it. He made his points and I obviously didn’t agree, but he’s made them and we debated.

When you see some of the other threads running of the dire straights people are in because of the state of the housing market, well i guess it puts it in perspective how luck we all are on here.

    I agree. ......

What's the story with that "bijou" (although probably deceptively spacious) ghost estate at the start of the Dunkirk Road? I heard some lad from Newry went bust and NAMA took it. Is it right it's they who
are finishing them, supposedly to increase value?
Now that I think of it, that if true can only depress prices further by increasing supply.

Are you talking about the one just up the Dunkirk on the RHS?

Apparently - though someone might have more info to correct me - all 30 houses are sold, and theres a waiting list of people if anyone pulls out.

I see the big development on the RHS on the way out of magheralin towards moira is going strong too - lots of houses sold and building continuing.

    Good to see.

Wonder what the prices were there? I believe the idea is to reduce losses rather than any expectation of profit.

I think the site was sold for something mental originally so they're never going to recoup all of that. Quite a range of houses from what i hear - big 5 beds down to semis. I dont think they were "cheap", must try to find out.

    Well, well, well... :)

NI house prices 'fall in August and September'

Northern Ireland house prices fell in August and September according to data from the Office of National Statistics.
The figures, which are based on information from the Council of Mortgage Lenders, suggest the average price is now £127,000.
The overall trend in Northern Ireland is flat with prices staying at around £130,000 since the middle of 2012. ;)

Another report, from the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, suggests prices rose in recent months. :rotfl:

Don't you just love it when people with a vested interest in something can always pull a report to the contrary of someone else's findings from somewhere....... :rotfl:

The two conflicting reports. ie one based on figures from the mortgage lenders and the other by RICS I assume are not based on a full set of data. What about houses sold for cash (ie. without using a mortgage or bank loan) and houses sold without using an estate agent. And then there are all those houses sold at auction. Are they included?
