Issue at bedtime

Options
Hello all, strange one for you but I am at a loss with what to do...

Problem:
I wake up most mornings very cold but also very sweaty.

Details:
No heating on over night, it only gets used about an hour per night anyway.
I'm not wearing pyjamas, just some pants.
No heating/cooling devices on and windows slightly cracked open for air.
I have a medium feather duvet with no quilt on top.
I've had this duvet for 2 years now and only been getting cold and sweaty the last 6 months or so.
Nothing has changed in that time that I can think would have an effect on my sleeping.
Lastly, when I wake up I am usually "cocooned" in my duvet, despite being cold.

Is anyone able to shed some light on what I could do to try avoid the cold sweats in the morning?

I think the problem may be within your body rather than within your bedroom iyswim.

What kind of age group are you in?

I get this sometimes and put it down to alcohol or bad dreams. If you are worried you should probably ask your doctor.

My mattress has a memory foam topper built in - I found this wasn't breathable and made me very hot. To fix I got another mattress topper to provide a breathable layer. Perhaps that, or something similar?

Have a word with your doctor. In my experience 95% of them are useless, and ignorant, but you never know.

Personally, I'd visit the Dr and see what they say.

However, being cold and sweaty is often I find a result of initially overheating. You get too hot, so you sweat, which then cools you down, resulting in becoming cold and sweaty. If you wake up at this point you may have no realisation you were previously too hot?

Night sweats can be harmless or can be a symptom of some medical conditions, general advice is see a doctor to make sure there is no underlying cause.
