ferf, we have had mixed experiences with Willy Wonka since being here.

Once in The Mirage and once in the Golden Nugget, same day, we hit $120.00 from playing 40c spins, both after hitting a x5 and x10 during the Oompa Loompa feature. I think we are probably just in profit on this machine over the 7 days.

Family Guy is another that we have had very volatile experiences with. We got the Stewie feature twice within $5 and picked up about $12.00 total then the girl next to us got it and hit Brian and Lois progressives for $275. Needless to say I felt a bit sick after that.

    Hi Guys -

Have followed this thread for while and will be heading to Vegas over Easter (and my birthday!) next year.

I've been looking at hotel options and understandably the prices seem fairly high. I've used the info from the first page and through smartervegas.com have found an offer at Excalibur for a contemporary tower deluxe room for 3 guests for $846 inc resort fees (8 night stay)

Just wondered if anyone had thoughts on the hotel? Last time we stayed in a standard room at the Luxor which was fine, we wont be spending that much time in the hotel so luxury isn't a big issue.

Just want to get the best we can for our money..... Oh and I have been playing myvegas and have quite a stack of lp's but these cant be redeemed until 90 days before arrival. Not sure if there would be much availability over the Easter Holidays anyway?

    Thanks

  • Hi

I've been reading this thread for a while now. There is some excellent info and advice and I was hoping it would continue...

I am going to vegas for new year and wanted to do a helicopter flight over the canyon. Does anybody have any recommendations on companies and which ones to book with?

Is it worth landing? What is better the west or south? Is the skywalk worth it?

I have seen some on groupon and travelzoo etc but would appreciate peoples thoughts.

    Thanks

Sorry, can't help with Excalibur, have never stayed there.

Have you been doing Social Rewards as well?

I'm not sure how the hotels side of myVegas works but it seems you can booked them further out than 90 days according to some posts I've seen (I've been meaning to ask about that here for a while).

I've always felt the theming of Excaliber attracts familes so personally I'd probably look at Monte Carlo instead going at a school holiday time.

  • Hi

This thread has been great in booking my trip to Las Vegas. I've never known such choice!

I've finally booked a 6 day trip at the end of Feb and will be staying at the Luxor tower room. I am travelling via Air France and Delta airline indirect. It will be a chance to stretch my legs between flights. I did a non stop trip to Aussie with no stopover.

I have also booked a cheap ticket to see Matt Goss and can always pay for extra for a Meet Greet pic. I would have liked to have sat at the front with a VIP ticket but I did not want to stick out like a sore thumb as I am travelling by myself. I always meet people though!

I would also like to book a helicopter trip to the Grand Canyon.

I thought San Fran was a 4 hr drive away but Ive been told its a 12 hr trip and the quickest way would be to fly there. I thought I could book a day trip there from Las Vegas. Oh well!

I am thinking of using the My Vegas rewards for things like food etc but I dont know if I would be too late to use them for Feb.
  • We saw Matt Goss last year, and we didn't pay extra for meet & greet. He stands outside after the show (at the Gossy bar or whatever it's called) and you can queue up to get a photo. I don't think that would even be exclusive to people at the show. I'm thinking the bar area is for people without show tickets too.

San Francisco is just over an hour on the plane. You could book a day trip flight. We went with Southwest a few years back, maybe about £60 or £80 return. We flew at about 8am and back at about 9pm. I was going to say to be prepared for much cooler climate but I see you are going in winter anyway. We went in September and it was surprisingly much cooler than Vegas, considering the flight time.

In TGI Fridays in Atlanta Airport now and just got on to he wifi.

3.45am we checked out, 6am flight, Cosmopolitan still packed to the rafters. I put $120 in to one of the roulette machines that have the live wheel with it. 8 came in which returned $370 then my number 21 came in which netted me $400. Unreal scenes! Cashed out for a few Benjamins and got in to the taxi!

I don't think you would stick out as a solo show goer especially as some of the audience are ladies who were fans back in the day but their husbands they are on holiday with wouldn't be seen dead at a show that had a Bros connection lol. Never seen young Mr Goss but the exact same dynamic is at play in the Flamingo with Donny Osmond. If you want to sit up front go for it I bet you won't be the only solo lady doing it !

You're a bit early not late for myVEGAS vouchers for food as you have to use them within 90 days of buying the reward so for February are just outside or just inside the window.
