Have a safe flight over, the weather is pickng up now. Been a bit chilly all week, as in mid 60's but is getting better.0

We did our last 3 half marathons for the Alzheimer's society, but as this is our first full we thought better to just do it so there is no pressure. We are hopping to get around in about 5 hours.
Come to think of it I could have set up a just giving page for sponsorship as we are traveling in economy:eek:;)
I think Just Giving goes straight to the charity and not to BA though :rotfl:
Totally understandable that you just want to get through it without the pressure. It's a long distance. Good luck.0 -

You'll be fine. If us old codgers can do it, it should be a piece of cake to you.0

I honestly like the indirect as it means I can stretch my legs... I usually go through security even if I'm not changing terminals to breathe some unprocessed air and remind myself that if I'd flown direct I'd still have customs and immigration to battle through rather than hop off the second plane - take that long long walk through LAS and jump in a cab.

Very good so far. I have an appointment to view the chapel tomorrow. If there's anything specific you'd like to know, now's the time to tell me0

I've gone indirect a few times now and always found it to be a doddle0
-
I did indirect for my first couple of Vegas trips and for the next two gone direct with BA.
My observations:-
Indirect.
1. Cheaper
2. No need for immigration at LAS (although it hasn't been any faster its just that its nicer not to have to delay getting to the hotel when in LAS)
3. Food options at other US airports (as StuieUK points out - they are v good)
4. Surly attitude of some US cabin crew. I find they have been less attentive and less forthcoming with the drinks. Plus in some cases you have to purchase alcohol (negated by price of flight I guess.)
Direct.
1. It's a long flight
2. With BA (from LGW anyway) you will land before the VA flight (about 20/30 mins) which makes a huge difference at immigration
3. Cabin crew a lot more fun. I don't want to sound ageist but long haul on VA and BA tend to be a much lower average age than US airlines from what I've personally experienced. And I've found they will engage in conversation a lot more.
4. Free flowing drinks. If you're sensible I've personally been able to head to the back of the plane with my mates and drink away. As long as your polite and sensible.0 -
We fly with BA next Wednesday out of LGW so we'll see what sort of crew we encounter - it tends to be a destination the crew seek out on their rotas I discovered as the layover is obviously quite good fun so hopefully we get a good bunch.
It does add to the whole excitement.0
