Down to photos usually
A printer with six inks will produce better images

Do you think it is worth paying extra for a printer or just get the basic one for £50.
Im confused, which basic 1 ?
Your uses are printing and photocopying so Id get an all in 1 unit, only issue with that is if the printer part of the unit fails then you have to send the unit back for a repair etc whereas if you had separate units you would still be able to print/photocopy.
The canon Ive got has been fine for at least a year, not everyday its used to print but when it does its fine.0 -

What i meant was you can get basic all in ones with all the brands for about £50 or spend an extra £50 and get extra features like printing onto a CD etc.0 -

Also these, though the compatible inks are expensive at the moment

Avoid the S22 as it drinks ink apparently
Check for better prices
Thanka thats helpful

At the end of the day, the most important part is the ink cartidges and most will say use compatibles, but if you get the wrong compatibles, they can end causing more trouble in the long run.
So most important thing that needs to be answered is, which compatibles to buy.Mansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0 -

If you spend £50 you risk the inks not being cheap to buy, research where you would get your inks from and at what price but as neilwoods says buy the right ones as well.0 -
I'd stick with something like an Epson BX305 because the cartridges are peanuts cheap so you can print all day without worrying about it. They're £5 for a set of 4 from 3000rpm.com0
