Galaxy S2 Contact Editing

Have just been trying to edit/change number of a couple of contacts on my Galaxy S2 running 4.0.4 on Tmoby ..... But keep getting "Error, unable to save contact changes" Even had ago at deleting , but that does not work either !
Any ideas folks ???
