As a frequent user of ebay and paypal I have always been under the impression that provided you have proof of postage (which is free) then you have fulfilled your role as seller with regards to missing items (unless the postage options specifically noted it would be sent by recorded delivery). If the item goes missing after you posted it, their quarrel lies with royal mail, not you.

Having also used the paypal dispute centre they seem to be reasonable. Have you contacted them explaining that it is evident the buyer received the tickets due to the positive feedback given?

please tell me you are a buyer and not a seller?

at the beginning of august i sold a festival ticket on ebay. the buyer paid with paypal. he recieved the ticket , went to the festival and left me excellent feedback on ebay a few days later.
in early november i got an email from paypal saying there was a problem with the transaction and that they have taken £152 from my paypal account pending an investigation ( this can take up to 72 days). i supplied paypal with all the relevant details. apparently the buyer has denied recieving the ticket..or something similar.
i have today recieved an email from paypal stating they are taking 148.00 from my bank account to bring my paypal account out of the red. i was in the red due to the money being taken by paypal back in november. i have written to Paypal, and spoken to them on the phone and made it clear they are not to take anything from my account without my authorisation. they have obviously ignored this.
    where do i stand legally?
can they take the money from my account without my say so?
what can i do to fight my corner?

thanks for taking time to read this and i thank you in advance for any help you may be able to give.

    regards

    barry

Call your banks fraud team and report it as an unauthorised transaction.

    its not fraud
its the T&Cs the OP signed up to when they used Paypal
a chargeback is easily defended as a seller
however until the OP replies,we wont know if they can

Proof of posting isn't worth the paper it's written on. You need proper tracking. If I were sending an item wirth £150, I'd be sending it Special Delivery. I believe that unless you can provide PayPal with the details of that kind of tracking, you don't have a leg to stand on.

I'm viewing this site via my phone so some of your post may be missing, it just doesn't seem to make any sense. . .?

So if i send an item to you through the post, with proof that I've posted it but you don't receive it, I'm liable to be at fault and not the middle man (the postal service)?

Yet if i were to send you some money via bank transfer with proof that i had sent it, but it doesn't arrive in your account, isn't it the middle man (the bank) who's at fault?
