My kids Loved Penang and Langkawi.
We did the beach hut thing in Lankawi and the cable car ride is excellent ..To be honest I think the day go karting was near the top for the kids.
One of the reasons I would recommend visiting Asia is that it is changing so quickly ..Becoming a kind of homogenised something ..That it really is a now or never for some of these places of character ..I rented a car in Malaysia which is surprisingly easy if you are from UK
Drove down to Malacca one year and across to Redang another year ..I was lucky and could take a months holiday so idled my way around ..But for quality time with inquisitive kids those months were magical.0
