i think a cruise is a good idea,
have you considered cuba?0 -
no, not considered Cuba .... off to search now
2012 wins approx £11,000 including 5k to spend on a holiday :j0 -
Riviera Maya, Mexico. Wonderful beaches. Great food and plenty to do and see!!0

If you want other wordly, berst place we've been is Palwan in the Philippines. We stayed in luxury huts on stilts. Bit adventurous though!
Cuba I did not rate at all. Not magical.
Depends what you want.
We'd love to go to The Seychelles or British Virgin Islands most of all. Next would be Malaysia - but never the big well known resorts. For your budget you could stay at the Andaman hotel on the island of Llangkawi, Malaysia.
Here;
My children love nature, jumping off cliffs, snorkelling, midnight swims, but lovely food and great accomodation but do not know what you / your Daughter like.
Florida is deffo not for us.
Other place we absolutely love is KAS in Turkey. Much more magical that the big built up parts such as Bodrum or Fethiye.
Kas is an old harour village. Lots of restaurants. Again we like good food, and the food we find great here, plus lots to do although again for us very much the great outdoors as opposed to wandering round a cheese factory.
KAS TOWN
We stay in villas on this peninsular just outside town
You can eat in town or on the peninsular in places like this
Typical villa view
ANOTHER IDEA;
A family resort in Turks and Caicos - would have the right blend of magic / castaway but good for kids;

I second this - if your daughter liked Disney, she'll be equally wowed by this. You'll have a fun time too!Kenya - bit of safari and bit of beach; organise it yourself, someone else is paying so where's the stress?
I'm also tempted to say Vegas, there's lots for children to do but you won't necessarily want to spend your nights in or leave DD with a sitter, maybe it would be a better option for 2.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!
"No man is worth, crawling on the earth"- adapted from Bob Crewe and Bob Gaudio
Hope is not a strategy
...A child is for life, not just 18 years....Don't get me started on the NHS, because you won't win...I love chaz-ing!0 -
Another vote for Cuba - something for everyone there.
Kenya was wonderful too, but there might be an age limit for the safaris. Wehn we were looking for most of them you had to be 12.
Another one worth a thought may well be Jamaica, find somewhere with a kids club so you can get some time on your own too.What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -

Now I have been looking for beach huts .. they are not easy to find .... well they are either very very cheap and falling down or 10k! I hadnt thought of Philippines ... off to google again!!2012 wins approx £11,000 including 5k to spend on a holiday :j0 -

I know someone who stayed in some lovely looking beach huts in Cebu, can't remember what they were called though.
I had a beach bungalow in Thailand this summer, it was a bit basic but had a fab view and no Brits around.
Or how about Argentina and Uruguay? Or the north eastern Brazilian coast?0 -
We stayed in a beach hut in Cherating, Malaysia (on the east coast in the middle). Very basic, even for us! We moved to the hotel next door after a couple of nights :rotfl:0
