Which is best? Intel Celeron 2.93GHz with 512mb ddr ram or Intel Pentium 4 2.8GHz also with 512mb ddr ram

I think the 6xx series have the 64 bit (64EMT) Extensions.

P4 over Celeron : Take P4 everytime.

P4/Celeron's are optimised for bandwidth, so the smaller cache hits the performance of the Celeron. Note that P4's/Celerons perform best when the RAM is running at 1:1 (i.e 800MHz FSB use 400DDR, 533 use 133DDR memory bus speed).
